About the Role:
The Hatchery Manager is a crucial role in our hatchery team and offers the opportunity to lead an amazing team of high achievers. The role is based at Dunalley, just 25 minutes from Sorell and 45 minutes from Hobart. It offers the opportunity to manage a successful shellfish hatchery, including overseeing small teams to ensure that spat is delivered to nurseries in accordance with our policies and procedures. At Camerons, our world is your oyster. Key Responsibilities:- Daily management of the oyster hatchery
- Supervise and manage hatchery team members
- Train new staff and actively promote a good working culture amongst the team
- Maintain sufficient breeding population of oysters
- Work closely with Nursery Manager to optimise stock profile
- Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of plumbing and pumping equipment
- Promote continuous improvement, identify efficiencies and best practice farming methods
Desirable skills and experience:- Experience in shellfish hatcheries/nursery
- Understanding of OHS
- Supervision of small teams
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
