Pace Engineering Ltd is an experienced, privately owned, mechanical engineering company. Our well-equipped purpose-built workshops based in Taranaki, the heart of New Zealand's energy province, offers total engineering services to a broad client base.
We're looking to add experienced Fitter Welder / Fabricators to our team in New Plymouth.
To be successful in this role, you will need:- A level 4 Engineering Trade Qualification or at least 3 years experience as a Fitter Welder, Boilermaker or equivalent
- To be quality and productivity focused
- Proficient English communication skills, including technical English
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as autonomously
- The ability to read, understand and follow manufacturing instructions and drawings
- The ability to understand and follow verbal instructions
Duties and responsibilities include:- Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using appropriate tools
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on job requirements
- Set up components for welding according to specifications
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
