At Sweet Talk, we're all about creating delicious cakes and treats that make people smile. We specialise in high-quality cakes that range from classic favourites to stunning bespoke wedding creations. And now, we're looking for someone like you to join our team!
The Role:
As an experienced Caker/Baker/Pastry Chef, you will be taught how we decorate our cakes and create our signature styles and be responsible for managing the orders in our bustling kitchen, ensuring every product leaving the bakery is of impeccable standard.
What We're Looking For:
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you'll need to meet the following requirements:- Good command of English
- Strong numeracy skills
- An NZQF level 4 qualification and / or at least 3 years of experience in a commercial kitchen - cake decorating experience is a BIG bonus
- Must be able to lift 25kg flour and sugar bags
- A positive working attitude and reliable nature
- A creative flair and passion for your work
- Ability to thrive in a team environment and handle pressure with ease
- Availability to work early mornings and weekends
- Commitment to working in New Zealand for at least 2 years
- Relevant qualifications to showcase your expertise
Key Responsibilities:- Cake, cupcake and other sweet treats decorating
- Baking; cakes, cookies, brownies, slices, confectionary
- General cleaning of the kitchen
- Interaction with customers
- Stock control/stock take
- Daily Kitchen cleaning duties
What We Offer:
In return for your skills and dedication, a salary package of $55,000 - $62,000 will be offered to the successful candidate. This is a full time position (minimum 40 hours per week), working Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
