At Civic Waste we're a long standing supplier of services to NZ cities. We contract to Councils and Private Companies for waste removal, road/hard surface sweeping, removing graffiti, water blasting, pavement cleaning and more!
We now require 2-3 Mobile Orderlies to join our Hamilton team.
This role is based at our Frankton depot and will involve working across Hamilton and Waikato from time to time.
This work involves attending public spaces (parks, reserves, town centres, bus shelters) for the purposes of:- Collection and removal of rubbish (bin servicing), loose litter, debris and dead animals.
- General cleaning (bins, street furniture etc).
- General clean up - weed control on footpath / furniture either by spraying or manual removal, and frond / branches removal.
- Minor maintenance on street furniture (using hand tools only, not power tools).
- Collections include the use of manual sweeping (eg broom sweeping) as well as use of mechanical or power devices (hand blowers).
- Operation of a light truck/van (Class 1).
- Using company apps daily to register for work, and inform of any issues.
Our successful applicant will have the following:- Ability to use power equipment
- Be able to adhere to the Civic company values and guiding principles.
- Excellent communication and time keeping skills.
- Flexibility: able and willing to adapt to changing priorities as and when required.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and capable of using initiative.
- Positive attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Professional attitude in dealings with members of the public.
- A clean, current full or restricted NZ Class 1 Drivers licence.
- Enjoys working outside and has a good level of physical fitness.
- Able to use apps on mobile phones.
This is a full time position working 45 hours per week, including the ability to work some weekends.
